For 55 years, Camping de Paal has made every effort to offer dream vacations to families. With a paradisiacal indoor and outdoor swimming pool, an indoor play area designed for adventure, and an enthusiastic animation team, de Paal aims to delight its guests of all ages.
Printing and Folding 800 Passes Per Day
Before working with EasySecure, Camping de Paal lost enormous amounts of time welcoming guests and issuing access cards. On an average day, with approximately 200 families arriving, roughly 800 passes had to be processed. These had to be printed, folded, placed in envelopes, and handed to guests upon arrival at reception.
Since there was no license plate recognition system, long lines often formed at reception, and vehicles would wait out onto the public road. Long wait times for guests created considerable frustration, while Camping de Paal’s staff had their hands full issuing passes.
Furthermore, this pass system was also vulnerable to fraud. Since the swimming pools and play area were accessible using passes that weren’t personalized, they could easily be lent to other visitors. Camping de Paal’s revenue suffered as a result.
Searching for the Perfect Partner
In order to reduce time constraints and streamline guest registration, Camping de Paal decided to partner with EasySecure. Step by Step Toward Great Results
The ambition is significant, but working together with EasySecure, Camping de Paal decided to move step by step to achieve its goal. So far, they have successfully integrated several of EasySecure’s applications:
License Plate Recognition
The first step was to automate the barrier using license plate recognition to finally end the long lines of vehicles. Since implementing this system, guests can go directly to their accommodation. With Boeking Experts, de Paal’s booking software, and an EasySecure integration partner, this objective was achieved. Facial Recognition at the Swimming Pool
The 2nd step was to facilitate access to the swimming pool. Thanks to a Suprema facial recognition system, guests can now upload selfies at home in the Camping de Paal app (a WeMa partner app) and authorize biometric registration. When they arrive at the pool, they can access it directly. Niek explains that finding the ideal solution took some time:
“Children are obviously shorter, which sometimes makes it difficult to scan their face. We solved this problem with EasySecure by placing a step on the floor where guests should stand, and a small ladder specifically for children.” — Niek, Receptionist at Camping de Paal
The system allows de Paal to make access easy and seamless for guests without all the hassles of physical passes. At the same time, it helps them avoid revenue loss from pass fraud.
Digital Door Lock Systems from DOM Security in Accommodations
To save time for Camping de Paal and simplify the guest registration process, the camping equipped its accommodations with DOM electronic lock systems. Once the reservation is made, guests receive a link allowing them to download the camping app. This WeMa Mobile application is connected to the EasySecure platform and gives guests direct access to their reserved accommodation via their smartphone. Niek explains:
“Since installing this system, only 5% of guests still go to reception for additional information. The remaining 95% check themselves in directly to their accommodation without any help from our staff. This represents huge time savings for us.”
The Results
By working with EasySecure, Camping de Paal achieved an average time savings of 4 hours per week. But an even greater advantage is that their guests’ experience also improved. Guests no longer have to wait in line to check in and no longer need a physical pass or key to access their accommodation or the swimming pool.
Camping de Paal is satisfied with the results they achieved in a short time. Niek explains:
“It’s working really well right now and we’re truly delighted. We notice that we’re saving enormous amounts of time and hope to eventually extend the facial recognition system to the indoor play area.”
Niek emphasizes that the time savings allows them to give more attention to guests. Additionally, they’re using the time savings to establish new partnerships with activity providers, all to improve their guests’ experience.
